puppyromping: WARL Rescue Run.

My roommate left early this morning on a WARL trip down to Virginia Beach to save numerous dogs and cats that were surrendered from this animal testing facility. The video in the article is absolutely horrifying. WARL truly is an amazing organization and responded incredibly quickly, driving down to rescue these animals prepared with medics for those who need immediate attention.

Help support the Washington Animal Rescue League at their annual 5K Dash & Doggie Run in Rock Creek Park on November 7th. The League will also be hosting an event for their Facebook fans on October 14th at the League - Georgetown cupcakes and Sangria will be served. Become a fan of their Facebook page! And check out their new blog which was launched earlier this month.

Meet King of Hearts and read his story.

Arts on Foot Festival

Yesterday was the start of the Washington Examiner's Arts on Foot fall festival, sponsored by Wines of Argentina.  The free festival debuts the upcoming performing and visual arts season and includes an arts market, performances, exhibits, crafts, food and wine. Arts on Foot takes place September 8-10 in Penn Quarter at 7th and F Streets. I'm hoping to pop by sometime this week during my lunch break.
