When a Fainting Goat is startled, its muscles freeze for about 10 seconds. This usually results in the goat falling to its side. Please explain how natural selection has not done its thing here.
After some Google investigation, I discovered that there is an International Fainting Goat Association created to "promote, preserve and protect the Fainting Goat". To register your goat with the organization you must submit a photo of your Fainting Goat "in the down position". These animals seem pretty silly. But if I owned one I suppose I would rarely be able to stay sad...I'd just walk outside, give one of these guys a little scare and have myself a good giggle.
