I don't think I trust McDonald's with cupcakes.

McDonald's Germany has announced a line of cupcakes today named after four NYC neighborhoods: the strawberry "Central Park," the chocolate "Chelsea," the vanilla "Soho" and the cappuccino "East Village."  Eater translated the personalities associated with each flavor. Funny that they aren't actually being sold in NYC.

home design: Tory Burch

I love these pictures of designer Tory Burch's kitchen and dining room from Elle magazine. The kitchen looks so open and clean and I especially love the blue accents against the crisp white background and pale green floor. I really enjoy the juxtaposition of the simple white kitchen and vibrant blue floral dining area.

a tribute to bacon.

My girlfriends from college and I periodically have email chains about bacon. Usually it is items found on blogs such as this. Today I received this article. My favorite part of this gem, however, is a picture posted by one of the commenters of her boyfriend's tattoo:

city-wide pillow fight?

One of my favorite ads of all time is the Nike commercial where the people of New York City are playing a giant game of tag. So obviously I would love that there was a giant pillow-fight on the mall last Saturday in celebration of National Pillow Fight Day.

Top Chef stalking.

As I had hoped, Washingtonian will be tracking the Top Chef contestants and filming via their Best Bites Blog. You can send them tips or sightings via email (topchefdc@washingtonian.com) or using #topchefdc on Twitter.

Top Chef filming.

Top Chef starts filming in DC today and rumors suggest they may be shooting on the roof of the Newseum.   In other DC food news, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, former supermodel Carla Bruni, ate at the popular Ben's Chili Bowl last Tuesday. While I heard fantastic rumors that Bruni downed two chili dogs, that is sadly not quite true.

A perfect cherry blossom weekend.

The National Cherry Blossom festival has kicked off, running from March 27 through April 11 with the peak days being this weekend, April 1 through 4. The weather is going to be incredible this weekend and there are so many events and activities to take advantage of! Washingtonian has posted their Guide to the Cherry Blossoms, which includes a map of good places to see the blossoms as well as lists of Cherry Blossom inspired dishes and cocktails. Here is a BYT list of cherry blossom special faves, as well! There is even a fireworks show planned for Saturday evening!
